Encrypting files is always a good idea and it can be done in various ways, thanks to all the applications which can be found on the Internet. Drag'n'Crypt brings a simple and straightforward approach to data encryption. It gives you the possibility of encrypting and decrypting any files instantly, just by clicking and dragging them. The application uses the Twofish encryption algorithm and it places a series of useful configuration options at your disposal.

Drag'n'Crypt can be used on Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 and it doesn't need to be installed. Its core files come in a ZIP archive, so you only need to extract them and run the executable. The application is absolutely free and it works even on older machines.

When launched, Drag'n'Crypt will display a floating icon on your screen, which can be moved anywhere you want. You only need to drag and drop one or more files over this icon to encrypt them. The application will display a small window on which you must type and retype a password. The operation can be executed in reverse as well. You can drag and drop encrypted files over the icon to decrypt them.

Double clicking the floating icon will hide it and you can bring it back through the application's system tray icon. Additionally, if you right click the icon, you will find a series of options for adding files to a favorites list and for encrypting or decrypting favorite items immediately.

Other useful options can be found in the application's general settings menu. You can enable context menu options, create file associations and set the application to shred source files, after encrypting them. Additionally, Drag'n'Crypt allows you to designate one or more edges of the screen as "HotRegions", which can be used to reveal the floating icon if it is hidden.

Pros

You can encrypt and decrypt files in just a few seconds, by dragging and dropping them over a floating icon. The application can erase the original files automatically and it allows you to add files to a favorites list, which can be encrypted or decrypted faster.

Cons

Drag'n'Crypt doesn't come with other encryption algorithms besides Twofish. With Drag'n'Crypt, you can protect your sensitive files almost instantly, without any effort.
